RUSSIAN ART FROM ESTATE OF LEONID KORNEEV. THIS ORIGINAL ARTWORK WAS ACQUIRED FROM THE PERSONAL ESTATE OF THE LATE LEONID KORNEEV YAKOVLEVICH. THESE EARLY SKETCHES AND DRAWINGS LAID THE FOUNDATION FOR HIS LATER WORKS IN WATERCOLORS AND OILS. THESE ARE VINTAGE PIECES RANGING IND ATE FOR 1960-2000, AND SOME MAY EVEN DISPLAY SKETCHES OR DRAWINGS ON THE BACKSIDE OF THE PIECES. LEONID KORNEEV YAKOVLEVICH WAS BORN MAY 15, 1922 IN KIROVOGRAD. IN 1940 HE WAS DRAFTED INTO THE SOVIET ARMY WHERE HE SERVED IN THE. HE RECEIVED HIS MILITARY EDUCATION AT ST NICHOLAS NAVAL AVIATION SCHOOL IN 1942 AND REMAINED IN THE MILITARY UNTIL 1956. FOLLOWING HIS MILITARY SERVICE KORNEEV ENTERED THE KIEV STATE ART INSTITUTE, FIRST IN ARCHITECTURE THEN THE ART DEPARTMENT. HE GRADUATED IN 1963 WITH A DEGREES AS AN ART TEACHER OF DRAWING AND FOR DRAWING AND ART EDUCATION METHODOLOGIST. FROM 1963-1965 HE TAUGHT AT THE KIROVOGRAD STATE PEDAGOGICAL INSTITUTE, FOLLOWING THIS FROM 1967 TO 1982 HE WORKED IN THE ART FUND IN KIROVOGRAD AND THEN IN THE 1990s HE TAUGHT IN KIROVOGRADSTATE PEDAGOGICAL INSTITUTE NAMED AFTERPUSHKIN. DURING HIS TIME AS AN ARTIST HE PARTICIPATED IN REGIONAL AND NATIONAL ART EXHIBITIONS. A COMMEMORATIVE EXHIBITION WAS HELD IN 2002 AT THE KIROVOGRAD REGIONAL ART MUSEUM IN HONOR OF KORNEEV TO DEDICATE HIS 80TH BIRTHDAY. HE CONTINUED TO DRAW AND PAINT UNTIL HIS DEATH ON APRIL 10, 2009

Shipping is only available within the U.S. and Canada. Applicable sales tax may apply. Shipments to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, American Virgin islands, and Canada will warrant additional shipping charges. Canadian shipments- winning bidder is responsible for any applicable taxes/duties.

Orders are submitted to the shipping department upon payment, and items will ship within 5-10 business days of payment, unless otherwise noted.

Bidding

When you place a bid, you are entering a binding contract. However, if you place a bid and would like to retract that bid, we will retract that bid up to 24 hours before the auction closes. This is for 1 bid only. You must contact us 24 hours prior to the auction close and there will be no legal consequences. For auctions lasting 48 hours or less, this does not apply. It is recommended that bidders research an item before placing a bid.
