Description

Fabulous Authentic Hand Knotted Part Silk Persian Isfahan

Breathtaking Rare Super Fine Part Silk Persian Seyrafian Isfahan Rug, Signed. 100% Natural, hand woven, vegetable dye, pure  silk and finest hand spun baby lamb's wool pile on pure silk foundation. This is a gorgeous and artistic part silk Isfahan with an unparalleled elegant arabesque Seyrafian pattern. Given the fact that city of Isfahan lies at the edge of the desert, it is taken for granted that primary colors are used to absorb the harsh and intense sunlight in order to be soothing to the eyes. So, it is rather rare and unusual to come across such a highly intricate Isfahan on a beige color background. The silk high lights shimmer as if they're raised above the rug surface, giving a three dimensional character to this piece.

SIZE: 8X5

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Iran

DESCRIPTION NOTE:

This lovely piece is masterfully hand woven, knot by knot, by renowned master weaver " MAZAHERI " and it is signed in the rug. This fine piece has about 400 knots per square inch and it takes a master weaver over three years to bring this beauty to life. The leather band sewn on the edge on the back of this rug is to prevent the edges from curling under due to the extreme tightness of the weave.

The beauty and the value of vintage or antique rugs are hidden in the uniqueness by the personal touch of the master weaver from the tools that they have or had available to them. Due to these old processes, the rugs may not have straight lines or square corners. Moreover, even with our best intention to inspect these rugs, they may have some old repair, or some spot that may not be easy to see. Please bid accordingly.
