Absolutely Lovely Hand Blown French Art Glass Fusion Vase/Sculpture

Original Hand Blown French Art Glass Fusion Vase/Sculpture. Complex hand blown art glass fusion piece realized by prize winning French master glass blower, Olivier Mallemouche. This lovely piece in an unusual and difficult to obtain color, beautifully combines numerous techniques. This vase was blown after drawing and shaping 4-5 layers of molten glass from the furnace on the pipe. Once cooled down, it was skilfully sandblasted to obtain its unique frosted finish. Four individually blown faces inspired by the artist's " Venerables," or "sages" collection were hot-fused to the vase and the base was cold finished to lend it stability and impart the level of quality required by one-of-a-kind collector's piece. Artistically and technically speaking, this is a very special piece, and a lovely addition to an art glass collection. This piece weighs about 10 lbs.

Born into a glass blower family, Olivier Mallemouche perfected his technical skills in tableware before beginning to explore his artistic side. He is inspired by locales, motif, primitive crafts, curves and pictographs as well as all things essentially human. The combination of technical mastery, inspiration and creativity has won him numerous European prizes and his work has been displayed in many galleries around the world.
